Biography
A graduate of the Royal Military College of Canada (BEng), Queen’s University at Kingston (MPA) and doctoral studies at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute (Centre for Public Administration and Policy); has taught management and business strategy at the University of Regina and, since 1986, at the EDHEC Business School. Professional experience has been divided between teaching and programme management. Academic specializations: entrepreneurship (including business planning and modelling, with particular emphasis on the commercialisation of technological innovation), business and corporate strategy, network dynamics (including as related to complexity theory), and regional economic development. A founding member of the organising committee of an ambitious regional business-creation competition (Challenge Jeunes Pousses / Young Seedlings Trophy), Charles Lumbers has for many years organised and overseen the entrepreneurial specialisations at the MBA level (Entrepreneurship Specialisation Track), the BBA level (Horizon Entrepreneurship et Développement d’Entreprise), and the MSc level (entrepreneurship elective in Corporate Finance). He has delivered papers on entrepreneurship and business models, entrepreneurial networking and networking strategy delivered at international conferences.
