Biography
Professor Deffayet Davrout entered EDHEC during a period of intensive development of the school. She contributed to this development by founding the Human Resources Management Teaching Department in 1987. Then she was responsible for the Personnel Division of the EDHEC Group. Later, after having spent 6 months networking in the USA, she set up a program for the development of cross-disciplinary skills for students in initial training, using innovative pedagogical methods. These were based on team learning and experimentation, for example, theatrical improvisation to work on listening skills. For the past 20 years, she has been conducting in-house consultation in companies dealing with team-building and development of managerial abilities. Her doctoral thesis focuses on the management of Junior Executives and managerial authority. Now she’s in charge of the teaching chair: “Leadership and Managerial Competencies” that develops new approaches for teaching management and is particularly involved in personal development for managers and future managers.
