Biography
Piotr studied environmental biology and computational methods of physics at the University of Warsaw, Poland. He obtained his PhD from the School of Environmental Sciences at the University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK, where he modelled the evolution of prokaryote genome size in response to various rates of change of their abiotic environment. After graduating, he held postdoc positions at the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw and later at the Evolutionary Biology Group at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland. Piotr started out as an experimental ecologist working on how freshwater zooplankton responds to hormonal stimuli. For the past few years his main interests have been theoretical biology and evolution.
Research Interest
Piotr specializes in agent-based models (ABMs) simulating various evolutionary processess
