Maciej Workiewicz

Biography

 Maciej joined ESSEC in 2016 and teaches Strategic Management in the school’s Masters Program. Before joining ESSEC Maciej completed his MBA at INSEAD, where he later pursued a PhD in Strategy. Prior to INSEAD, Maciej worked in the Calgary office of Deloitte Canada and at the Siemens’ Energy Division in Nuremberg, Germany.

Research Interest

 In studying strategy, Maciej’s research focuses on how organizational structure influences how firms adapt and innovate. In particular, he is interested in organizations where managers report to two or more superiors, as in the case of matrix and project-based organizations, and boss-less firms, where employees are given significant latitude in how to structure and coordinate their efforts.
