Biography
Bernard Gilly, Ph.D., one of our founders, has served as the Chairman of our board of directors since the company’s creation. He is currently CEO at Gensight Biologics, a French biotechnology company he co-founded in 2012. From 2012 through 2014, Dr. Gilly served as CEO at Pixium Vision, which he took public on Euronext in Paris in 2014. From 2005 to 2009, he founded and was Chairman & CEO of Fovea Pharmaceuticals, which was acquired by Sanofi. After the acquisition, he became Senior VP of the Ophthalmology Division at Sanofi until 2012. Prior to Fovea, Dr. Gilly was a partner at Sofinnova Partners from 2000 to 2005. From 1992 to 2000, he was CEO of Transgene, a company listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange and the Nouveau Marché of Euronext Paris, France. Dr. Gilly received an engineering degree from Ecole Nationale d’Agronomie and a Ph.D. from Université de Rennes.
