Biography
Catherine Freeman is Senior Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer of FTI Consulting and is responsible for managing and continuing to develop global best practice solutions regarding the company’s financial planning and analysis, consolidated financial reporting, and Securities and Exchange Commission filings. Additionally, she is responsible for technical accounting analysis and support, internal controls and global accounting policies and procedures, and shared services transactional and financial support for both domestic and foreign operations. Ms. Freeman also oversees acquisition integrations, and management and strategic development of financial systems application solutions. Prior to joining FTI Consulting in November 2007, Ms. Freeman held positions as vice president, deputy chief financial officer and corporate controller at AES Corporation, a $13 billion international energy company. In addition, Ms. Freeman was vice president, controller for World Kitchen, a global spinoff from Corning, which specializes in the manufacturing, marketing and distribution of well-known branded household kitchen products. Before that, Ms. Freeman spent 18 years in positions of progressive responsibility, including the senior corporate controller role at Fort James (subsequently acquired by Georgia Pacific), a $7 billion retail consumer products manufacturing, marketing and distribution business. Ms. Freeman’s primary focus and experience includes development of technical accounting and reporting solutions, management information reporting, reorganization and staffing of large or newly created organizations, international expansion and structuring, and financial systems strategy and implementation. Ms. Freeman started her career in public accounting at Deloitte.
