Charles D. Overstreet

Biography

Charles Overstreet is a Global Segment Leader of FTI Consulting Health Solutions segment and is based in Brentwood. Mr. Overstreet has exceptionally broad and varied experiences throughout the continuum of the Healthcare Industry. Mr. Overstreet’s work focuses on assisting clients with creating innovative solutions to delivering and funding patient care that capitalizes on their strengths, responds to the future healthcare needs of their communities, and enhances their compliance with all applicable guidelines. Mr. Overstreet also has detailed experience in the development of corporate compliance programs; compliance with Federal and State payment guidelines (documentation, coding, billing, and payment) for healthcare services and Medicare Advantage health plans; and responses to investigations by the US Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General, Department of Justice, and other regulatory agencies. He has also conducted analysis and testing of documentation, coding and reimbursement processes to detect inefficiencies and areas of non-compliance. He has assisted with “Self-Disclosures” to governmental regulatory agencies; the implementation and monitoring of Corporate Integrity Agreements; and supported numerous clients (payors and providers) in litigation and arbitration related to disputes over payment processes and charging methodologies for healthcare services. Mr. Overstreet began his consulting career in the Strategy Practice of Booz Allen & Hamilton, and has held leadership positions at Arthur Andersen and KPMG. Prior to consulting, he worked at a large academic medical center and an urban community hospital; he also was a Captain in the U.S. Air Force. He has an M.S. and a B.S. in health systems from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is a fellow with the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society and a member of the Health Care Compliance Association.
