Biography
Dr de Baère is currently the Head of Department of Interventional Radiology at Institut Gustave Roussy in France. Has been working for over 15 years in the field of percutaneous ablation of liver tumors either by direct injection, or more recently physical destruction and also investigated pre-operative portal vein embolization in order to hypertrophy unembolized parts of the liver. These treatments have been develloped from experimental studies in order to allow a rapid transfer from bench-top to clinical applications.
