Biography

Professor Emeritus of Universities, University of Paris Ouest-Nanterre, Department of Sociology Researcher at the Laboratory of Anthropology of Institutions and Social Organizations Iiac / Cnrs / Ehess, Pierre Bouvier was a visiting researcher at the Center for Social Ethnology and Psychosociology (CNRS) and a Research Fellow at the Laboratory of Sociology of Institutional Change (CNRS). He was also Visiting Professor at New York University (January-March 2002 / April -May 1998) at UCLA and Yale, Visiting Researcher at Columbia University (July-September 1984). He is the founder of the journal Socio-anthropologie , former member of the editorial board of the Journal des Anthropologues and Ecritique . Conferences (recent) in Yale. Research Interest

Research Topics The main theme is the theoretical and methodological elaboration of an original approach to which I have given the name of "socio-anthropology". In a first period, searches were concentrated around the areas of production and labor ( Daily work, socio-anthropological approach , PUF, 1989; "From the analysis of work in social anthropology" in production of social , Fayard, 1999). It is an approach to certain points of convergence between the sociological and anthropological disciplines and, on the other hand, induced by observations and analyzes giving rise to new parameters: constructed, population, autoscopy, endoreism ... able to better account for the social facts marking the contemporary. Thus, for example, what is realized in the case of inclusion, acclusion, and exclusion marking contemporaneity ( Le lien social , Gallimard, 2005). Moreover, re-working the theses of Frantz Fanon and Aimé Césaire on colonization and postcolonial, the question is about the way and the forms in which perpetuate, transform or emerge, different popular cultures including those of the colonized then of their descendants ( Aimé Césaire, Frantz Fanon, portraits of decolonized, Belles Lettres, 2010). Practices and representations can and do constitute already modalities of responses, constructs and "coherent population groups" responding to the disillusionments of the contemporary. Socianthropological reflexivity seeks to trace its contours and thicknesses.
