Biography
Dr Karine Faure graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Tousouse (now ENSIACET) and received an Msc degree in Analytical Chemistry from University College Cork (Ireland). Her PhD research focused on the use of capillary zone electrophoresis to monitor metal complexation and was completed in the group of Prof Jeremy D Glennon in 2006. She then joined University Claude Bernard Lyon 1 as postdoctorant in the group of Jean-Louis Rocca, where she dedicated her research to the miniaturization of electrochromatography technique in thermoplastic chip via in-situ organic monolith synthesis. She was appointed tenured researcher at CNRS (chargé de recherché) in 2007. From 2010 she orientated her interest towards another chromatographic technique named centrifugal partition chromatography and received her Habilitation (HDR) in 2013, allowing full PhD supervision and own research steering. She has supervised 5 PhD students and over 15 MSc students. Concerning institutional appointments, Dr. Karine Faure was elected member of the Unit council (2010-2016), serves as Axis coordinator for Separation Sciences at ISA since 2015 and provides tutorship to the newly created ISA board of young researchers (ISAToPE). She is member of the editorial board of Journal of Chromatography and Related Technologies (2014-) and Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis (2016-). She is permanent member of the International Commitee of CCC conferences (2016-) and of the executive board of Club Lyonnais de Chromatography, a network of over 110 members (2013-). She took part of the organizing committee of SEP2015 conference. She is the author of over 30 publications in international journals and 7 invited book chapters. Her work was presented as oral and poster communications in over 70 national and international conferences amongst which 6 invited talks.
