Claude Fabre
Professor
QUANTUM OPTICS AND QUANTUM INFORMATION
Kastler-Brossel Laboratory
France
Biography
He is currently the Professor at the University Pierre et Marie Curie-Paris 6. He worked as a senior member of the Institut Universitaire de France. He is also teh Co-leader of the Quantum Optics group of the Laboratoire Kastler Brossel and President of the Société Française d’Optique(2009-2011). Fellow of the Optical Society of America OSA and of the European Optical Society EOS Editor in chief of the review “European Physical Journal D” (2008 2012)His research deals mainly with the quantum properties of light, especially in the regime of “intense light”, also called “continuous variable regime”, when the flux of photons is such that they cannot be counted individually. One is then interested more in the study of the quantum fluctuations of the electromagnetic field of the light wave.
