Biography
Mohammad Djafar Moïnfar (PhD, Neuchâtel; habilitation doctorate, letters and social science, Paris) joined the CNRS in 1966. He has been emeritus research director since 2003.
Research Interest
General linguistics, quantitative and formal linguistics, linguistic borrowing; ethnolinguistics and ethnobotany; Arabic linguistics; Iranian linguistics, the study of Arabic dialects in Chad; symbolism and analysis of myths; Islamic studies, pain and the expression of pain; E. Benveniste (works, bibliography and terminology)
