Biography
After discharging collective duties from 2005 to 2010 as Director of the LESC and an elected member of Section 38 of the National Committee, and after working on promoting a renewed vision of anthropology, Anne-Marie Peatrik returned to her individual activities as a researcher. The anthropology of the stages of life – a theme that draws on her ethnography of the Meru of Kenya and has already resulted in various publications and courses at the University of Paris West and the University of Chicago – is currently proceeding according to three dimensions: the simultaneous construction of genres throughout the ages; the deviations of the “young” category; scholarly and popular theories of the stages of life.
Research Interest
anthropology of the stages of life, new cultural institutions, practical epistemology and disciplinary interfaces
