Biography
Albert Piette has been teaching in the Department of Ethnology at the University of Paris West Nanterre La Défense since 2011. On the basis of field research on festive rituals in Wallonia and on Catholic parishes in Normandy, he explores the ethnographic act of observing and describing, as well as human modes of situation presence, comparing them with those of various non-humans, which he calls para-humans (gods, domestic animals, institutions, etc.).
