Biography
Education : M.S.N., Salem State University (Adult Medical/Surgical Nursing; Nursing Administration) B.S.N., Boston College Diploma, Nursing, Misericordia Hospital School of Nursing, NY Prior Experience : During my fifty years as a professional nurse, I have had many varied experiences. These include practicing in staff nurse and supervisory positions in acute care hospitals and long-term/ rehabilitation facilities. I coordinated and participated in a post-graduate nursing specialty program and held the position of Director of Nursing Education at The Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. I also held the Director of Nursing Education position for the Infusion Nurses Society, a specialty nursing organization. I have had the opportunity to publish in professional nursing journals and Medical/Surgical Nursing textbooks and have participated as a reviewer for Professional Nursing textbooks. I have been a member of and an elected committee person for The Massachusetts Nurses Association. I am an active member of Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society of Nursing. Research Interest
I have previously done research projects on student engagement and am currently investigating effective approaches to student success in fundamentals of nursing. I also am an avid sports fan and have a personal history of playing basketball.
