Dr. Anne Gron

Biography

Dr. Anne Gron conducts economic research and analysis of firm and industry performance and business valuation. Her research addresses economic issues raised in the context of complex commercial litigation, government and regulatory investigations, and business strategy. Prior to joining NERA, Dr. Gron was a professor at the Kellogg School of Management, where she taught graduate courses in Business Strategy, Risk Management, Microeconomics, and Industrial Organization. Dr. Gron began her professional career at the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business. Dr. Gron has been a consultant or expert witness and has prepared expert reports and presentations in litigation and advisory matters involving, among other issues: alleged manipulations of benchmark prices (including interest rates and crude oil benchmarks); business valuation, lost profit valuation, and solvency (including an insurance company, a specialty retailer, a liquor distributor, a workers' compensation fund, life insurance contracts, a mortgage originator, and a vehicle service contract provider); analysis of market structure and pricing (including auto repair shops, variable annuities, mutual fund fees, and insurance distribution); and analyses of loss causation (involving mortgage securities and leveraged lease investments). She has been a consultant or expert witness and prepared expert reports in class certification matters, including those involving claims settlement (homeowners and mobile home insurance), long-term disability premiums, and manipulation of benchmark prices. She has assisted clients with economic research, presentations, and papers in advisory matters involving insurance regulators, federal regulators (the US Securities and Exchange Commission and the US Department of Justice), and corporate boards. She has testified in state and federal court proceedings at deposition and at trial.
