Biography
Based in Madrid, Dr. Stefan Berger specializes in a wide range of energy related topics in particular covering European gas markets. Since joining NERA's Energy Practice in 2008, Dr. Berger has worked on matters including litigation cases and arbitrations related to price reviews in long-term gas supply contracts in Spain, Italy and Germany, due diligence evaluations in support of acquisitions of regulated network assets, and studies regarding the design of gas markets and access regulation. Prior to joining NERA, he worked as a consultant on public sector reform projects in Germany and Switzerland. Dr. Berger obtained a PhD in economics from the University of Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona for his thesis on international trade and regulation, where he also taught several courses on macroeconomics.
