Jorge Baez

Biography

Mr. Baez is an Associate Director at NERA specializing in securities, finance and statistics, including valuation and damage analyses. He has analyzed issues relevant to class certification, damages and the impact of market volatility on individual stocks in more than 50 securities class actions. Mr. Baez's testimony, litigation and advisory work experiences have involved economic reasonableness and valuation of various securities and structured products including mortgage-backed securities and equity options; analysis of swaps and futures trading; due diligence of hedge funds; and insider trading.  His work has focused on industries such as oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, banking and information technology. Mr. Baez has testified at trials in Federal District Court, and in Spanish and Swiss Courts.
