Leon Hooftman, 

Biography

  Chief Medical Officer Dr Hooftman is an accomplished pharmaceutical MD with more than 20 years’ experience in biopharmaceutical drug development including involvement in several New Drug Applications. He qualified in medicine in 1984 from the University of Utrecht, and trained in surgery and transplantation medicine in the Netherlands, the USA and UK. He holds a MD and BSc in medical sciences of Utrecht University in the Netherlands and is a registered medical practitioner in the UK and Holland. Dr Hooftman started his pharmaceutical career at F. Hoffmann La Roche, where he spent almost 10 years in global immunology and oncology drug development, before he became Head of Clinical Development at Celltech Group plc. Between 2005 and 2014 he was Chief Medical Officer of Chroma Therapeutics, Opsona Therapeutics (Dublin), and Synthon BV (the Netherlands). In 2014 he moved back to Switzerland as CMO of Polyphor.
