Biography
Elizabeth Borne is a graduate of Ecole Polytechnique and a Ponts et Chaussées inspector general. After serving in various positions in the French equipment ministry and then in the equipment regional directorate for the Paris region, Ms Borne was appointed technical advisor for transport and then advisor for urban development, equipment, housing, transport and the city in the office of the prime minister (1997-2002). Ms Borne then served as strategy director and member of the executive committee in SNCF, a position she held until 2007. Ms Borne subsequently worked as concessions director in Eiffage (2007-2008) and then as director general for urban development for the city of Paris authorities (2008-2013) before being appointed prefect of the Poitou-Charentes and Vienne region (2013-2014).
