Biography
Elisabeth is a Nurse Practitioner in medical oncology and hematology. She is a Family Nurse Practitioner and holds advanced certifications in oncology and genetics. She is also a Certified Breast Care Nurse. Prior to joining Texas Oncology, her healthcare experience included pulmonology as well as obstetrics and gynecology. Before entering the healthcare field, Elisabeth worked in molecular biology research at MD Anderson Cancer Center and The University of Texas at Austin focusing on cancer prevention. She has co-authored several papers and has presented her research at local and national conferences, including the American Association for Cancer Research and Oncology Nursing Society Congress. She has lectured at national conferences on various topics, including hereditary cancer and genetics. She also guest lectures on clinical oncology at The University of Texas nursing school. Elisabeth received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from The University of Texas at Austin, where she specialized in Human Biology with an emphasis on Genetics and Biotechnology. She then attended Austin Community College where she received her Associate Degree in Nursing. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing at Frontier Nursing University where she graduated with honors. Elisabeth has also completed the City of Hope Intensive Course in Cancer Risk Assessment, which provided additional training in cancer related genetic risk assessment.
