Biography
Dr. Ashworth is board certified in hematology and medical oncology, with particular interest in skin cancers, head and neck cancer, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and clinical research.Dr. Ashworth completed her fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of California, San Francisco with a research focus in clinical trials for patients with melanoma. During this time, she deepened her expertise in complex patient care and developed a new curriculum on physician wellness for her colleagues. During her internal medicine residency at Scripps Clinic/Scripps Green Hospital in La Jolla, California, she performed research on breast cancer imaging and served on the Hospital Ethics Committee.Dr. Ashworth attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas where she completed her Doctor of Medicine degree on the medical ethics track, served as Class President, and participated in community outreach through volunteer activities. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in human biology on the social aspects of health and disease at The University of Texas at Austin, where she perfomed research in cell signaling and was active in student science organizations.
