Thomas Hutson

Biography

  Thomas E. Hutson, D.O., Pharm.D., FACP, is the director of the Urologic Oncology Program and Co-Chair of the Urologic Cancer Research and Treatment Center at Baylor University Medical Center; and is a Professor of Medicine at Texas A&M College of Medicine. Dr. Hutson is recognized internationally as a leader in the field of urologic cancers; has authored over 500 scholarly works; is regularly invited to speak at medical venues around the world; and is the clinical lead investigator on several international research trials   Dr. Hutson received his bachelor’s and doctor of pharmacy degrees from Ohio Northern University and his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from Ohio University. He completed his residency in internal medicine, followed by fellowships in medical oncology and experimental therapeutics at the Cleveland Clinic. Faith, and the relationship between religion and medicine, has been of particular importance to Dr. Hutson, especially in the area of end of life care. He has served as the medical director for Holy Savior Hospice in Dallas, Texas, and is an active member of the Christian Medical Dental Association. He is currently enrolled in theological studies at Dallas Theological Seminary and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
