Biography

 Overall, she is interested in the psychosocial determinants of cognitive aging. Several studies show today the importance of not only considering cognitive aging in the neurobiological perspective, but in a more complete perspective, taking into account the intervention of psychosocial factors (personal goals, motivations and beliefs) modify with age due to many social influences (social role, stereotypes on aging) and play an important role in the cognitive functioning of the older adult. Currently, she is study the role played by the lack of confidence that older adults have in their memory (sense of self-efficacy memory, SAM) in the decline of episodic memory performance observed during aging. The objective of my work is to answer a number of questions still arising concerning the SAM and the relations that it maintains with the performances of memory. Given the inconsistency observed in the literature between SAM and memory performance, is it possible to conclude that there is a positive and significant correlation between these two variables? To what extent and under what circumstances does SAM influence the memory performance of older adults? What are the mechanisms responsible for the deleterious effect of a weak SAM on memory performance? An increasing number of studies show the importance of considering cognitive aging not only from the classical "neurobiological" point of view but in a broad perspective that takes into account the impact of psychosocial factors (personal goals, motivation, beliefs) a result of social influences (social roles, aging stereotypes).
