Biography
Director of research at the CNRS, Pascal Laugier is director of LIP (parametric imaging laboratory - UMR CNRS 7623). Since 1991, he has led an interdisciplinary team on the biomedical applications of ultrasound in the parametric imaging laboratory. The approaches are multiple: wave propagation in complex biological environments, acoustic microscopy, characterization of biological tissues, biomechanics, sonoporation. Pascal Laugier and his team contributed greatly in the 1990s to the development of ultrasound osteodensitometry by developing the first ultrasound imager of the bone. The group has become an international leader in this field, thanks in particular to the work carried out in modeling, instrumentation and clinical transfer. Since 2008, ULtrasound Assessment of Bone ), of the UPMC research federation (CIIB Biomedical Imaging Innovation Center). He is president of the CNRS (therapeutics, pharmacology and bioengineering) section 30 (2008-2012) and has been a member of the board of the Paris School of Mechanical, Acoustic, Electronic and Robotic Sciences.
