Biography
Serge Fdida has been a professor of computer science at UPMC since 1995, in the computer laboratory UPMC / CNRS (LIP6). His research theme concerns the evolution of the Internet, in particular the design of innovative wireless networks and large-scale experimental platforms. He was appointed professor at the Paris Descartes University in 1991 and was a visiting scholar at IBM Research in Raleigh, USA. He obtained his thesis and authorization to conduct research (HDR) at UPMC. Serge Fdida was deputy director of the UFR mathematics-computer science of the Paris Descartes University from 1993 to 1994, then missionary in the department of the sciences and information technologies of the CNRS of 2000 to 2005, member of INRIA's evaluation committee, and vice-president of the national telecommunications research network (RNRT). He was Vice President of International Relations from 2010 to 2012 and Vice President Europe of UPMC from 2012 to 2016.
Research Interest
Internet technology and protocols, with an emphasis on innovative wireless networks, large-scale content distribution systems as well as the design of federated test-beds to support experimentally driven research.
