Biography
Mr. Redford provides engineering oversight for all WKA construction materials testing and special inspection services, and is responsible for numerous special projects. He is the engineer in charge of construction materials testing and special inspection services out of our West Sacramento facility. He has been involved in testing, inspection and engineering since 1980, and has worked on projects throughout California, Colorado and Nevada. His experience includes structural design calculations and production of plans, specifications, and estimates for various projects, including bridge seismic retrofit and widening, buildings, highway improvements, and retaining walls. He has directed geotechnical engineering studies and prepared reports for a wide variety of projects in California. Mr. Redford also has performed and supervised extensive field and laboratory testing and inspection of construction materials for a wide range of commercial, transportation and infrastructure, industrial, military, school, and hospital projects. He has directed investigation and load testing of existing structures, and has been involved in forensic investigations of numerous structures, synthetic turf fields, and pavements. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno, and a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Davis. Mr. Redford is registered in California as a Civil and Geotechnical Engineer, in Nevada as a Civil Engineer, in Michigan as a Professional Engineer, and as a NICET Level III Engineering Technician. He is a member of the Structural Engineers Association of Central California, American Concrete Institute, ASTM International, and the Division of the State Architect (DSA) Advisory Board.
