Biography

 Raised in Texas, Dr. Wright went to college at Texas Christian University, where she majored in Neuroscience and minored in Political Science. She attended medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, and then moved to Baltimore to train in Neurology at the University of Maryland. She did subspecialty training in Neurocritical Care at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, and was on faculty there before moving to Atlanta in June of 2005. Dr. Wright is the Chief of Clinical Service and the Medical Director of the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit at Emory University Hospital Midtown. She is an Associate Professor of Neurology and Neurosurgery She is board certified in Neurology, Vascular Neurology, and Neurocritical Care. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, and the Neurocritical Care Society (on which she currently as a member of the Board of Directors). Her research is in sodium regulation and manipulation to reduce cerebral edema after neurologic injury. Other interests include patient safety and physician advocacy. She is currently a student at Emory Law School pursuing a Juris Master degree.
