Biography
Andreas Lusch is the president and chief executive officer of Steam Power Systems for GE Power. He oversees GE’s complete portfolio of turnkey power plant solutions, including the industry’s widest range of generators and steam turbines, air quality control systems and turbine island solutions for nuclear applications. Andreas has been working in the power and energy industry for more than 27 years. Prior to joining GE, he was the senior vice president of Alstom Thermal Power’s Steam and Nuclear businesses, where he had global responsibility for Alstom’s steam and nuclear portfolios. In this role, he was in charge of integrating Alstom Power products into power plants through engineering, procurement and construction services for worldwide gas-, oil- and coal-based power plant customers. Andreas began his career in 1987 in the engineering and construction division of the ThyssenKrupp Group (Krupp Koppers and Uhde), and held a variety of roles of increasing significance during his time with the company. Beginning as a process engineer, he worked his way up to the head of sales and tendering in the ThyssenKrupp Group’s oil and gas division, and in 1998, became responsible for the oil and gas division within Uhde GmbH. After Uhde GmbH, Andreas went on to Lurgi Oil Gas Chemie GmbH and later to Lurgi AG. Andreas was educated in Germany and studied chemical engineering at the University of Karlsruhe.
