Biography

I study the interaction between atmospheric CO2 and oceanic carbonate chemistry. I have pursued developing improved methods to measure carbonate species in seawater, developing high resolution depth profiles of the ocean, understanding dynamic relationships between atmospheric and dissolved carbon dioxide, and biological control of this chemistry in real-world systems, from estuaries to the open ocean.

Research Interest

Ocean acidification, carbonate chemistry, unattended sensor platforms, advanced and long-term culture techniques, phytoremediation and marine algal biofuels/biomass production, sea turtle conservation, non-invasive in situ monitoring of sea turtle nests, anthropogenic light pollution
