Biography
Patrick de Castelbajac has been nominated to be Company Secretary and Chief of Staff at Airbus effective from 1 November 2016. In his role, Patrick reports to Fabrice Brégier and is member of the Airbus Executive Committee. Patrick de Castelbajac began his career in 1997 in the aeronautical industry at MBDA (at that time called Aerospatiale Missile), before spending three years with Baker & McKenzie as a lawyer and member of the Paris Bar. His devotion for the aeronautical industry proved too strong however, and Patrick de Castelbajac joined Airbus in 2002. After an initial period working on purchase contracts, mainly for equipment and systems, he was appointed Vice-President Legal Affairs for Purchasing and Intellectual Property. As such, he was involved in the negotiations with the main equipment manufacturers for the development of the various Airbus programmes. At the end of 2010, Patrick de Castelbajac joined the Commercial Division of Airbus and was appointed Director of Contract Negotiations, responsible for commercial negotiations. He was moreover Deputy Contracts Director, a position that encompasses functions ranging from commercial planning, quotations, customization and deliveries to contract administration. In June 2014, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of ATR.
