Biography
Rudolf Knepper, born in 1945 in Beckum, studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University in Berlin and economics at the Technical University in Munich. After his successful graduation, he worked at a consultancy before he started his career in the technical division of Axel Springer SE in October 1973. He then served as Head of Technical Planning (1977), Manager for the printing plant in Hamburg (1981) as well as Head of newspaper printing plants (1985). In 1994, Rudolf Knepper became a member of the Executive Board. During his 17 years on the Executive Board, he was responsible for the technical, logistic, personnel and procurement areas. He also became Vice Chairman in 2002. Since his retirement at the end of 2011, he has been working as an entrepreneur in the consulting, investment and real estate fields. By way of resolution of the Annual General Meeting on April 16, 2014, he became a member of the Supervisory Board of Axel Springer SE.
