Biography
Roland Kreutzer was co-founder (2000) of Ribopharma AG (later Alnylam Europe AG and Roche Kulmbach GmbH). At Roche, he served as a member of the global research leadership team. He studied biology at the University Bayreuth, Germany. After completion of his Ph.D. in molecular genetics and research stays at the University of Sussex, UK, and the Institut de Biologie Moléculaire et Cellulaire, Strasbourg, France, Roland did his postdoctoral lecture qualification (Habilitation) for biochemistry at the University of Bayreuth. He is co-inventor of pioneering fundamental patents in the field of RNAi.
