Dr. Lars Benecke

Biography

 Dr. Lars Benecke will take over the lead of Law, Patents & Compliance of the Division Crop Science from October 1, 2016 and will then become a member of the Executive Committee. Dr. Lars Benecke was born in Munich, Germany, in 1962. After studying Law at the universities in Cologne, Lausanne and Florence, he started his business career as lawyer in Dusseldorf and as legal consultant in the Federal Ministry of Economics Germany in Bonn. In March 1997 he joined Bayer AG in Leverkusen where he worked as Senior Legal Counsel – part-time also as assistant for the former CFO. In the course of the reorganization of Bayer AG Dr. Benecke took over in 2002 the lead of the Law, Patents & Compliance department of Bayer Material Science AG. In 2008 Dr. Benecke relocated to Bayer Corporation in Pittsburgh, USA, where he – before he was licensed to practice law in the US – took over administrative tasks. He then headed Law, Patents & Compliance as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer until July 2016. Dr. Benecke is married and has two daughters.
