Biography
He has completed his First degree and doctorate from University of St. Gallen for Business Administration, Economics, Law and Social Sciences in 1976 – 1984. He was Bain & Co., Boston, Manager, strategy consulting in 1984 – 1988. he was Goldman Sachs & Co., New York, Vice President Mergers & Acquisitions in 1988 – 1989. He was Goldman Sachs International, London, Executive Director, Investment Banking in 1989 – 1994. He was Goldman Sachs & Co. OHG, Frankfurt, Chairman and partner, Goldman Sachs Group in 1994 – 1999. He is Honorary Professor at WHU Koblenz since 1998. He was Member of the Board of Management of Allianz AG (since October 2006 Allianz SE) in 2000 – 2012. he is currently Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Bank AG since 2012.
