Biography
Dr. Jacqueline Applegate has been Head of Environmental Science Business Operations Unit and a member of the Executive Committee of CropScience since July 1, 2015. Jacqueline Applegate was born in Union, Ohio, USA, on December 12, 1965. She studied in the United States, earning a bachelor’s degree in chemistry at Wright State University, a Ph.D. degree in organic chemistry from Iowa State University, and then a Master of Business Administration at Rockhurst University, Executive Fellows Program. Over the past 23 years, Jacqueline has held positions of increasing responsibility with Bayer, particularly in the Bayer CropScience subgroup, in North America, Europe and Asia/Pacific. She began her career in 1992 as a Process Development Chemist in Product Supply, Kansas City, Missouri, USA. She moved to Monheim, Germany, in 1998 to assume the position of Global Project Manager and was appointed Head of Global Project Management in 2002. In 2005, Jacqueline joined Bayer CropScience’s Environmental Science Business Operations unit as Head of Global Portfolio Management located in Lyon, France. She assumed the position of President of Bayer Advanced Consumer Lawn & Garden USA in September 2007, and was appointed President of Environmental Science North America in 2010. In 2013, Jacqueline Applegate became the Bayer Corporate Senior Representative of Australia and New Zealand as well as Chair and Managing Director of Bayer CropScience in these countries. Jacqueline Applegate is married with one son.
