Biography
Dr. Michael Haug was appointed to the Executive Committee of Crop Science effective March 1, 2011. Since January 1, 2011, he has been working as Head of Human Resources. Michael Haug was born in Cologne, Germany, on September 20, 1958. After graduating from the University of Cologne with a doctor’s degree in Chemistry, he began his career with Bayer in the business unit Crop Protection in 1986. He took over several tasks in research and portfolio management, before he was appointed to be responsible for the introduction of SAP in 1998. Within the scope of the acquisition of Aventis CropScience by Bayer 2002, Dr. Haug accounted for the IT unit of the newly built-up subgroup Bayer CropScience. Four years later, he took over the management of the corporate project "Transforming Human Resources" by which Bayer gave its HR department and its staff a new direction. From 2006 to 2010 is headed the Center of Expertise for Executive Management. Dr. Haug is married and has two children.
