Biography
Claudia Gather studied Sociology at the University of Trier and the Free University of Berlin. Subsequently, she worked as a research assistant at the Technical University of Berlin and the Free University. She has also lectured as both visiting and stand-in professor of Sociology and Gender Research at the University of Florida (USA) and the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. She was then Professor of Sociology and dean of campus at the University of Applied Sciences of Hildesheim, Holzminden, Göttingen. In order to improve the situation of women starting up their own business, she developed and founded – together with female colleagues – the cooperative “WeiberWirtschaft” as a model project. He has nearly 10 publications
