Biography
Doctorate (1981) and post-doctoral lecturing qualification (1991) in Politics at the University of Frankfurt am Main. 1979-1991: first of all research associate (until 1985), then assistant lecturer at the University of Frankfurt am Main. 1991—1996: Research associate at the Institute for Social Research, Frankfurt am Main. 1996-2001: Professor of Politics in the Police Service Faculty of the FHVR Berlin (now Berlin School of Economics and Law – BSEL). 2002-2007: Head of the Faculty of Legal and Social Sciences at the Polizei-Führungsakademie (since 2006 the German University for Police) in Münster, 2007: Returned to professorship in Politics at the FHVR Berlin
