Kai Lamottke

Biography

 Dr. Kai Lamottke is founder of the first Sino-German biopharmaceutical company Bicoll.  Currently, he holds the position of Managing Director at Bicoll in Germany as well as General Manager of the Chinese part of the company.  He gained an insight into global biotech and pharmaceutical markets and built-up an extensive commercial, academic and political network in life sciences and innovation sectors. With his expertise and knowledge he is persistently invited to serve as an expert for different companies and organizations, like the European Commission, Brussels / Belgium, Federal Minister of Education and Research of Germany (BMBF; German-Chinese Platform Life Science), the Eurostars Programme, German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), Hainan / P.R. China, Network For Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) e.V., Frankfurt, BEA GmbH, LMU Entrepreneurship Center, BMW Stiftung Herbert Quandt, Munich business plan Competition (MBPW), last all in Munich.  Dr. Lamottke has initiated several co-funded international programs for identifying new pharmaceuticals with a total volume of more than 20 Mio. €, e.g. http://www.epimirna.eu/ He received his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Munich and his Master Degree from both the University of Berkeley and the University of Münster. Until 2002 he held a research position at the Technical University of Munich, supported from the Bavarian State Government, Ministry of Science, Research and Arts. For his achievements the Bavarian state has granted him an Executive Program – Entrepreneurship at MIT Sloan School of Management, Cambridge, MA/USA.  Kai Lamottke has been grateful to get invited to Young Global, Asian, and national Leader Forums of the BMW Quandt Foundation as well as to McKinsey's Pharma R&D Summit 2005 in China.
