Biography
Prof. Simon Ward, Ph.D. has been Executive Vice President of Chemistry & Development at BioCrea GmbH since 2010. Prof. Ward is an experienced program leader who has delivered multiple clinical candidates across CNS indications. He has a track record of initiating & driving innovative medicinal chemistry strategies across a wide range of molecular target classes. Prof. Ward was an Assistant Director at GlaxoSmithKline where he led multidisciplinary project teams & medicinal chemistry groups from target identification through hit to lead discovery, lead optimisation, preclinical development and early clinical studies. His extensive experience encompasses targets for neurodegeneration, depression, schizophrenia, pain and cognition. He holds the Chair of Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Sussex, UK.
