Biography
Franz Fehrenbach has been chairman of the supervisory board of Robert Bosch GmbH since July 1, 2012 and also managing partner of Robert Bosch Industrietreuhand KG (RBIK). Franz Fehrenbach was born on July 1, 1949, in Kenzingen (Breisgau), Germany. He is married and has three adult sons. After graduating from high school in 1968, he studied industrial engineering at the University of Karlsruhe, where he received his degree in 1975. He is a member of the board of the Stifterverband, a joint initiative of German industries to promote science and higher education, a member of the supervisory board of BASF SE as well as of Linde AG, and a member of the advisory board of Stihl Holding AG & Co. KG. He is also an advocate for education and entrepreneurship in his role as steering committee chair for “Wissensfabrik – Unternehmen für Deutschland e.V.”. This initiative brings companies and foundations together in order to prepare Germany’s next generation for the challenges and opportunities of the future.
