Biography
Danielle Sheer is Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary of the Company. Ms. Sheer previously served as our General Counsel since September 2009 and as our Corporate Secretary since April 2011. She has direct responsibility for Carbonite’s global legal and corporate governance affairs, intellectual property portfolio, and worldwide data security and privacy compliance. From August 2006 to September 2009, Ms. Sheer was a corporate attorney in New York with the law firm of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, where she concentrated on business and securities transactions. Ms. Sheer serves on the board of directors of The Boston Club, the Board of Overseers at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and on the advisory board for the Women in the Enterprise of Science and Technology. She has been named to the Boston Business Journal's “Forty under 40” list of emerging business leaders, honored by the Massachusetts Bar Association and Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly as an “Emerging Leader,” selected as “Maverick of the Year” Stevie award winner for Women in Business, and named an “Emerging Leader for Advancing Women Leaders” by the Boston Business Journal. In March 2017, she was honored as an In-house Leader in the Law by Massachusetts Weekly. Ms. Sheer holds a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and a B.A. in Philosophy from George Washington University.
