Biography
Carmen Zahn deals with new media in the context of digital transformation and digital competence. Her research interests at the University of Applied Psychology are digital media and cooperation and knowledge and learning. She teaches the subjects of Media Psychology (BSc) and Digital Change in Work and Education (MSc) at the APS and teaches at the Psychological Institute at the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen. The focus of their cognitive-psychological research is on interactive visual media (eg multitouch technologies for teamwork, online videos for learning and education). Important fields of application of these researches in professional practice are: agile teams, collaboration in design teams, professional brainstorming, design of innovative learning environments with digital media and Internet. From 2002 to 2011 Prof. Dr. Zahn worked as a researcher at the Leibniz Institute for Wissensmedien (IWM) in Tübingen, where she researched the role of new network-based media for school teaching / learning processes (learning with online videotools in teaching, developing professional media literacy skills) In 2011 , she worked as a guest at the Stanford Graduate School of Education and the H-Star Institute (Human Sciences and Technology Advanced Research Institute - Prof. Roy Pea). In 2010 she qualified as a lecturer at the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen, Germany, on the subject of "Knowledge Communication in the 21st Century". In 2004 , she received her PhD from the University of Tübingen (subject of the dissertation: "Knowledge Communication with Hypervideos") within the framework of a doctoral fellowship from the German Research Foundation (DFG). Carmen Zahn studied psychology and media sciences at the University of Tübingen and at the University of Missouri, Columbia, USA (Psychology Diploma 1995, Media Practice Diploma 1996).
