Biography
Roland Bodmeier is Professor of Pharmaceutical Technology at the College of Pharmacy at the Freie Universität Berlin in Germany. He studied Pharmacy at the Ludwig-Maximilians Universität München, Germany, (1977-1982) received a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics at the University of Texas at Austin (1986) and a Dr. rer. nat. habil from the University of Regensburg (1993). He served as an Assistant/ tenured Associate Professor at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Texas at Austin (1986-1994) before he moved to his current position. He was a visiting professor at the Upjohn Company (1991) and at the University Henri Poincare in Nancy, France (1994, 1996). His research focuses on innovative drug delivery systems with controlled drug release (peroral systems, biodegradable implants/microparticles, microencapsulation, multiparticulate dosage forms) and has resulted in more than 170 publications, book chapters and patents/-applications.
