Biography
In 2005, Franz C. Palm was appointed (Academy) Professor of Econometrics by the Royal Netherlands Academy of Sciences. Since 1985 he has been Professor of Econometrics at the University of Maastricht. There he was Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration from 1986 to 1989, 1998 to 2001 and 2004 to 2006. He was also Professor of Econometrics at the Free University of Amsterdam (1980-1985). He obtained his doctorate in 1975 from the Center for Operations Research and Econometrics (CORE) at the University of Louvain. There he also completed the Master in Economics / Econometrics. Prior to his appointment to the Free University of Amsterdam, he was a research associate at CORE (1971-1972) and at the Graduate School of Business, University of Chicago (1972-1974).
