Biography
Harald Bolt (born 1960) has been a member of the Executive Board since February 1, 2008. Previously, since 1999 he was a scientific member of the Max Planck Society and director at the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics in Garching. He holds numerous positions in international committees, including the Advisory Group on Energy for the EU Directorates-General for Research and Transport / Energy and the Supervisory Board of the European merger agency "Fusion for Energy". Harald Bolt studied mechanical engineering in Aachen from 1980 to 1985. He received his doctorate in 1988 at RWTH Aachen and in 1990 at Nagoya University, Japan. He spent the years 1986 to 1988 as a visiting Euratom guest in Japan at Osaka and Nagoya Universities and the Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute.
