Biography
After studying philosophy, sociology and economics, Hannes Kuch at the Free University of Berlin promoted Hegel's figure of 'Herr und Knecht' and their transformations in philosophy and social theory (published by Campus, 2013). He was a research associate in the research project "On the Performance of Linguistic Violence" (FU Berlin) as well as a scholarship to the Graduate School, Slavery - Bondage and Frondienst - Zwangsarbeit (University of Trier). Following his doctorate postdoctoral research fellowship in the field of ideas at the Institute of Culture and Aesthetics of the University of Stockholm and teaching at the University of Magdeburg and the FU Berlin. Currently postdoc at the Institute of Political Science, University of Leipzig.
Research Interest
Historically, the focus is on the 19th century, particularly Hegel and Marx, and the 20th century, particularly critical theory and poststructuralism. Systematically: Philosophy of recognition and freedom, theories of power and violence, especially of symbolic power and linguistic violence, the basic principles of social criticism, social philosophy of economics, and political theory of the market.
