Biography
Alev Coban is working on her PhD project “Places and Practices of Innovation in Nairobi” at the Department of Human Geography since December 2014. She holds a B.A. in African Development Studies of Geography (2011, Bayreuth) and a M.A. in Geographies of Globalization: Markets and Metropolises (2014, Frankfurt am Main). Her master’s thesis focused on global connectivities, especially those established by ICTs in the Global South, and combined ethnographic approaches to infrastructures with epistemologies of Science and Technology Studies.

Urban Infrastructures in Transition socio-material practices of prototyping, making and innovating in the context of tremendous investment in technological development by multinationals and development organizations
