Doctorate to Dr. phil. 1988, FU Berlin, Habilitation 1993 University of Giessen. 1982-83 Research assistant in a research project on mental stress in the workplace. 1983-1987 Research Assistant for Labor and Organizational Psychology at the Institute for Psychology of the Freie Universität Berlin. 1987-1990 Research assistant in a project in the human computer field (FAUST: error analysis for the investigation of software and training) at the University of Munich. 1990-1991 Guest at the Department of Psychology, University of Manchester. 1991-1993 Scientific assistant at the Institute of Psychology of the Justus Liebig University of Giessen. 1993-1994 Acting professor at the University of Bielefeld. 1994-1997 Professor at the University of Konstanz. Since 1997 Professor of Labor and Organizational Psychology at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University Frankfurt.
